It may have not been punitive, but at the least John Calipari wanted to get DeAndre Liggins’ attention. Liggins found out during Friday’s practice that he wasn’t going to start against South Carolina. The junior responded with one of his best overall games of the season. Coming off the bench for the first time this year, Liggins had 11 points in 28 minutes. He also helped set the defensive tone, limiting South Carolina point guard Bruce Ellington to seven points on 1-of-11 shooting.
