Here’s the latest in the college hoops coaching carousel: Oklahoma today fired Jeff Capel after five seasons. The Sooners have suffered back-to-back losing seasons and are under NCAA investigation. Word from Lubbock is that Billy Gillispie will be the new Texas Tech coach. Chris Level of 1043FM ESPN in Lubbock tweets that Gillispie will be announced as coach on Wednesday. And in Arkansas, where John Pelphrey was fired after four seasons, the name Tubby Smith has emerged as a leading candidate to become the next head hog.
