Here’s hoping we meet Billy Gillispie and his Red Raiders down the road

Billy Gillispie

- Ron Jenkins | Star-Telegram

I never liked Billy Gillispie.  I thought he was a bad fit from the beginning.  And in silent protest, I stopped updating WildcatWorld.com on a regular basis during his tenure.  I've enjoyed his silence the past two years.  Unfortunately, he is back in coaching and now we will all be subject to hear his name and his thoughts every so often.  In a recent press conference, he got on my nerves once again.  When asked his thoughts on Texas A&M leaving the Big 12 for the SEC, a conference in which he once represented Big Blue (notice I did not say coach), he stated, in relevant part:  “the Big 12 is the greatest league in the country.”  Really, Billy?  The greatest league in the country?  Well, Billy, if your record in the SEC, a league inferior to the Big 12 according to you, is any indication of your future success in the Big 12, I guess you better prepare yourself for failure in the Big 12 too.  Man, what I wouldn't give to see Billy G. and the Red Raiders in the Tournament come March.
