It was an up-and-down week for Derek Willis. The Bullitt East High School junior didn’t have a great showing last week in the adidas May Classic with the Louisville Magic and then saw his national ranking drop from No. 30 to No. 91 in the Scout.com updated version of the Class of 2014 rankings. The 6-foot-9 University of Kentucky commitment hadn’t been playing well during the spring for the Magic, leading to his fall on the national scene. But in Lexington over the weekend, Willis appeared to turn the corner.
