Darius Miller named grand marshal for Fourth of July parade

Former Mason County High School basketball star and member of the University of Kentucky 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship team, Darius Miller, has been named the grand marshal of Maysville’s annual Fourth of July parade.  Miller, 22, is a 2008 graduate of Mason County High School. He helped lead the Royals to the 2008 state championship, and in the same year was named Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball.  Miller continued his basketball career at the University of Kentucky, where he helped his team win the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. Miller averaged 10 points a game for the 2011-2012 season, and was named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year.
