GENERAL

Will compete for the starting role at power forward and may see action at both center and small forward... Athletic, can run the floor like a wing player and dominate the glass... Possesses a good shooting touch, including a range to 20 feet... Name pronounced "jewels k-MAR-a," and Jules is a nickname for Souleymane.

Freshman: Saw action in all 37 games, averaging 4.4 ppg and 3.2 rpg while shooting 53.3 percent from the field... In the NCAA Tournament, averaged 4.8 ppg and 3.2 rpg while playing 12.2 mpg... Had 10 points and six rebounds vs. Georgia (2/17/99), scoring in double figures for the fourth time... Against LSU, played 17 minutes, scoring nine points and hitting his second three-pointer of the season... Had six points, six rebounds and two steals vs. Miss. State... Hit his first three-pointer against Vanderbilt... Solid effort vs. Tennessee State -- eight points, seven rebounds and a season-best four steals in 16 minutes... Made his UK debut by recording his first double-double, a 10-point, 11-rebound effort vs. EKU in the season-opener... Followed up with a career-high 15 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks against Mercer.

High School: Averaged 15.1 ppg, 9.7 rebounds and 3.7 bpg in helping Oak Hill to a 29-2 record in 1998 and a No. 5 ranking nationally... Shot 62.4 percent from the field, 78.8 percent from the foul line... Ranked as one of the top-30 prep players by recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons... As a senior, he won the Rebounding Award, the Coach's Award and was also named to the National Honor Society and was voted Mr. Oak Hill Academy... As a junior, he averaged 8.1 ppg and 7.1 rpg while Oak Hill finished with a 30-5 record and a No. 22 ranking nationally... His junior season was his first in the United States after playing two years of organized basketball in West Africa... Also played soccer and tennis at Oak Hill... Speaks fluent French and English, as well as his native French dialect... Coached at Oak Hill by Steve Smith.
