the '99 season at Utah Valley State (Junior) College for Coach Jeff Reinert before
transferring to Kentucky in May, choosing UK over BYU... Averaged 14.5 points and 8.9
rebounds per game last leason as UVSC went 24-8... Led the Scenic West Athletic Conference
in rebounding while playing in all 32 games, shooting 60.4 percent from the field, 60.9
percent from the foul line... Also dished out 60 assists and blocked 31 shots... Was named
UVSC's 1999 Athlete of the Year. Freshman: In 1996-97, played his freshman season at
Oregon State, where UK assistant George Felton was a member of the coaching staff...
Appeared in 24 games with nine starts, averaging 15.3 minutes, 3.0 points and 3.2 rebounds
per game... His career highs were nine points against Portland in his first collegiate
game and 10 rebounds vs. Arizona State... After the Beavers finished 7-20, he served a
Latter Day Saints Church mission in Cleveland for one year before attending UVSC.
High School: As a senior, led the Hawks to a 14-8 record while averaging 24.6
points, 16.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game... The state's top scorer was an All-Region
and All-State selection... He was named to 10 All-Tournament teams and was honorable
mention All-American by USA Today... As a junior, Alta won the state title... He lettered
three years for Coach Ron Carling. |
