Per the Lexington Herald-Leader at Kentucky.com: The University of Kentucky and the UK Athletic Association have settled their contract dispute with former UK men’s basketball coach Billy Gillispie. The agreement gives Gillispie $2.98 million. UK also agreed to pay more than $265,000 in legal and mediation fees. Gillispie was seeking more than $6 million for breach of contract and fraud related to his firing two years into a seven-year agreement. The suit was filed in May. Gillispie was fired in March. A university statement announcing the settlement said that UK “will have no further comment on the settlement agreement.”
