A coach’s worth has long been a topic of discussion in college sports, particularly in football and men’s basketball. Since the economy tanked last year, that speculation has increased almost every time a high-profile coach gets a contract extension and raise. The interest peaked just before this season started when Florida’s Urban Meyer received an extension and raise that put him well over $4 million, as did Alabama’s Nick Saban less than a month later.
