Three victories over eight days against North Carolina, Indiana and Connecticut suggest that, with normal John Calipari progress, will be as fearsome as Kansas, Texas, or any other national contender by March.  However, it's natural for a team to have a sluggish performance coming off finals week at school and to struggle to get motivated against teams like Austin Peay after a string of games against elite competition.

On February 23, 1970, Dan Issel scored 47 points against Alabama.

 

On February 23, 2019, with an 80-53 victory over Auburn, 10th-year head coach John Calipari moves past Joe B. Hall for the second most victories by a UK head coach in program history. He trails only the Baron of the Bluegrass, Adolph Rupp.
