The University of used a late 7-0 run to pull away from No. 1 76-68 and send the Jayhawks to their first loss of the college basketball season.  Scotty Hopson scored 17 points and Bobby Maze added 16 to lead a short-handed Tennessee squad, ranked 16th in the Associated Press media poll, to the win at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
