Had everything gone to plan, Eleanor Roosevelt High School graduate Darnell Dodson would be in the midst of a college basketball career at the University of Pittsburgh. The college basketball career has happened, but Dodson's journey has taken a different path, ending not with Pittsburgh, but with one of the nation's most hallowed programs at the University of . And that's just fine with Dodson, who is averaging 7.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game and has hit 24 3-pointers, tied for second most on the team, as the Wildcats have amassed an 18-0 record and No. 2 national ranking, as of press time.

On June 24, 2010, Kentucky had five players drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft. John Wall became the first Wildcat ever named the overall No. 1 pick when he was selected by the Washington Wizards.  DeMarcus Cousins was selected fifth by the Sacramento Kings, Patrick Patterson went 14th to the Houston Rockets, Eric Bledsoe went 18th to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Daniel Orton was picked 29th by the Orlando Magic.
