The night North Carolina’s season died


Going, going … gone?  season has slipped away. Wednesday night was pretty much it for the Tar Heels, who played well but not well enough in a 64-54 home defeat to No. 8 .  The defending national champions have lost eight of 10 since the start of 2010, including four in a row overall to tumble near the basement of the Atlantic Coast Conference standings, one step above last-place North Carolina State.

On February 23, 2019, with an 80-53 victory over Auburn, 10th-year head coach John Calipari moves past Joe B. Hall for the second most victories by a UK head coach in program history. He trails only the Baron of the Bluegrass, Adolph Rupp.
