Life would not be serene in the NBA. It’s obvious even flawed stars have more authority than all but the very best coaches. Most coaches must answer to both an owner and a general manager. And, honestly, John Calipari wouldn’t be able to escape the media if he were to accept a job coaching junior high girls basketball. And maybe he wouldn’t want to. He does love attention.
