Enes Kanter’s last-ditch appeal is scheduled for this afternoon

According to a source close to the situation, .com has learned that the freshman’s fate should be determined by the in the day or so following the appeal, which was filed in early December, two days after the NCAA’s decision to allow quarterback Cam Newton to play in the BCS Championship Game.  Kanter was ruled “permanently ineligible” by the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff earlier this season for receiving benefits above his actual and necessary expenses while playing in Turkey.
