Somewhere along the way from last season’s finish to this season’s tip off, Matt Pilgrim got lost. Took a wrong turn. Veered one way when he should have gone another. Detoured, definitely. Needs you to find yourself, to find the dynamic player who impacted games down the stretch a year ago, providing added oomph for a run into the NCAA Tournament. Clearly, James Anderson and Obi Muonelo formed the guts of a team that finished 22-11 overall and 9-7 in the Big 12. But that squad needed Pilgrim, too, and he delivered.
