Deandre Liggins is one of twelve University of Kentucky student-athletes to be inducted into the Frank G. Ham Society of Character in a ceremony to be held Saturday, February 19, at UK's Center for Academic and Tutorial Services. The Society of Character recognizes Wildcat student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to academic excellence, athletic participation, personal development, career preparation and serving as a role model. The SOC was founded during the 1998-99 school year and is named in honor of Ham, a long-time UK administrator. DeAndre is not the most vocal player on the team, but he leads by example with his work ethic and perseverance. That perseverance translates to the classroom, where he devotes tireless effort. DeAndre is also a role model in the community, where he generously volunteers his time with at-risk youth.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter's Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
