There might come a time, a year or two from now, when Michael Gilchrist looks back on the big game Wednesday night as if it was as a quaint part of his past. Only 8,000 fans? Gilchrist is headed to Kentucky, where an exhibition game might draw 23,000 at Rupp Arena, and a spot in the Final Four would mean more than twice that. He is headed to a place where Ashley Judd sits courtside and Dick Vitale will shower him with superlatives, and that’s before he gets to the NBA. He will have bigger nights than this.
