Former Cat Allen Edwards leaves WKU to coach under Larry Shyatt at Wyoming

WKU assistant men’s basketball coach Allen Edwards is leaving the Hill to accept a position as the second assistant under new University of Wyoming head coach Larry Shyatt, the university announced Monday.  Edwards, who recently completed his first season as the third assistant at WKU, is familiar with the Shyatt family coaching tree. Edwards and Shyatt’s son, Jeremy, were on the coaching staff together at VCU for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.

Then-Kentucky governor A.B. “Happy” Chandler sprinted onto the playing court at the final buzzer and drove a nail into the floor to mark the spot from which “Hagan’s heave” was launched.
