Reports surfaced Thursday afternoon that former Kentucky player and current Mid-Continent coach Winston Bennett had contact with MSU regarding the position. Bennett told the Ledger & Times Friday morning that he had initiated the contact and declined to say who he had spoken with. “I initiated the contact and not Murray State,” said Bennett, who recently finished his fourth year at the NAIA school in Mayfield. “Being so close, it would have been kind of idiotic for me not to drive down, a half hour away.”
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
