With Louisville having 18 players and the scholarship limit at 13, Pitino had to do some cutting. Because Pitino has been recruiting hard, three of his players who weren’t just filling out the roster are losing their scholarship. All three players were important for Louisville last season. Seniors Kyle Kuric and Chris Smith, and sophomore Elisha Justice will each return to walk-on status. Two other players who were never expected to earn a scholarship, Mark Jackson and Tim Henderson remain walk-ons.
