Derrick Hord was born September 19, 1960 in Bristol, Tennessee. The 6-6 guard/forward was a Parade All-American and McDonalds All-American in high school. He played in 124 games at Kentucky from 1979-83 and scored 1,220 points, including 490 in his junior year, when he averaged a career best 16.3 points per game. He also shot 47 percent from the field for his career. He was a First team All-SEC selection in 1981-1982 and was drafted #67 overall in the 3rd Round of the 1983 NBA Draft by Cleveland.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter’s Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
