Why is Tennessee wearing blue shoes and socks? (with video)

If you watched any of the vs. game from Maui, you noticed the blue socks and shoes the Volunteers from Tennessee were wearing and wondered what was going on and why the blue?  At first I thought I was watching Florida.  You can see the blue kicks in the below.  From UTSports.com:  “The Vols will be sporting special basketball shoes during their three games at the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational. The Hawaiian-inspired custom kicks are blue and will be available for purchase starting Monday.  The light blue ironically harkens to mind the celebrated era of Big Orange basketball when Ray Mears roamed the bench and program greats such as Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld racked up wins and All-America honors. Tennessee’s uniforms at that time featured a light blue, which was used as an accent to outline players’ numbers as well as their names and the words “ Volunteers” on the jerseys.   The Maui Invitational also will be contested using basketballs. To prepare, the Vols are using the adidas game balls at their pre-tournament practices here in Lahaina.”
