Ironically, two of the greatest offensive performances in Kentucky basketball history took place in Knoxville. First, Turpin dropped 42 points on the Vols at UT's Stokely Center in 1983, and years later Meeks pour in 54 points at Thompson-Boling Arena in 2009. Turpin, who was one of the best big man shooters in UK history, led the No. 10-ranked Cats into Knoxville on Jan. 31, 1983. What followed was one of the great individual performances ever by a Wildcat.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter's Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
