Kentucky coach John Calipari is not on the campaign trail, but he did stump for one of his assistant coaches today in Atlanta. One of his top assistant coaches, Kenny Payne, has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the opening at Mississippi State. On some levels, it makes sense. He’s a former Mr. Basketball in Mississippi and has ties to the South, where he has, reportedly, been recruiting Kemper County star Devonta Pollard for the Wildcats.
