
Memphis recruit Shaq Goodwin had a perfect start for Team USA on Saturday in the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship in Sao Sebastiáo do Paraiso, Brazil. In the easy 105-42 win over the U.S. Virgin Islands, Goodwin made all 12 field-goal attempts and all six free throws to lead the Americans with 30 points. It was the third-highest scoring output ever for Team USA in a U-18 event. Tennessee’s Jarnell Stokes added 19 points and eight rebounds, and McKinney, Texas, prep star Julius Randle and Duke recruit Rasheed Sulaimon each had 12 points. Maryland recruit Jake Layman contributed seven points and 10 rebounds.
