Court records show Rod Strickland shouldn’t have been arrested

According to court documents obtained by LEX 18, former UK assistant basketball coach Rod Strickland, who was arrested Thursday morning for driving on a DUI suspended license, had the license reinstated in April 2011.  Strickland, 46, was arrested at East Maxwell and South Martin Luther King Boulevard. Aside from the driving on a DUI suspended license, Strickland was also charged with not having registered plates and failing to signal.  Strickland was arrested on DUI charges back in April 2010. He was re-assigned to an administrative role in the UK basketball program after the arrest.
