The 6-foot-10, 239-pound sophomore forward averaged five points, 1.8 rebounds and blocked 17 shots last season in just 11.6 minutes per game. He’s the only returning player who saw significant action on last year’s championship team. He sank 35 of 81 3-pointers (43.2 percent) for the Wildcats last year.  Witljer was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Oregon as a senior at Jesuit High School in Portland, Ore. He was a consensus top-25 overall recruit nationally and a McDonald’s in the Class of 2011. This is a sampling of Wiltjer’s preseason Q&A with The Courier-Journal:  How different will your role be this year after being essentially the seventh man last year?  “I want to do whatever it takes for our team to win. Definitely my role will be a little bigger this year – hopefully. I’m willing to take on those challenges and hopefully become a leader and show these guys how to do it, because I do have the experience from last year.”
