The scene in the second episode of ESPN's “All-Access Kentucky” was short and easily overlooked. But there's a significant point in it: John Calipari's quest to cook up another national title might depend on something as simple as getting his condiments to complement one another.
The cameras caught former Wildcats coach Joe B. Hall giving Calipari a crash course on how to get the ketchup and mustard working together. Hall moved the red and yellow squeeze bottles — representing 6-foot-10 Nerlens Noel and 7-0 Willie Cauley-Stein, a pair of prized UK freshmen — across the breakfast counter at Wheeler Pharmacy, a Lexington institution where Calipari regularly comes for the old-timers' advice as much as the food.
