For being the newly anointed “master of rivals,” John Calipari has often overlooked them, at least in the public’s eye. He’s dabbled in coaches’ speak, referred to the big ones as just another game and talked about the fact that every game is the other team’s Super Bowl anyways. He did that in so many words after the Marshall game on Saturday when Calipari said they would move on to the next game no matter what happens at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville on Saturday at 4 p.m.
In many ways, that mentality hasn’t changed for Coach Cal as Kentucky gets ready for its annual showdown with archrival Louisville. Win or lose, UK will move on to its final nonconference game with Eastern Michigan with its sight set on a run at the Southeastern Conference championship. Barring a dreadful SEC run, UK will make the NCAA Tournament regardless of Saturday’s game.
