Patrick Patterson engages beast mode, carries offensive load as Rockets win

Such was the shared excellence of the Rockets' late-game run Saturday night that All-Star-to-be James Harden recorded his first career triple-double and was not the focus of a night that featured some flashes of brilliance, a 16-minute stretch of the blahs and one very frightening moment.

Patrick Patterson scored 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, going 6-for-6 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers in the final 12 minutes, and the Rockets bounced back from a five-point deficit for a 109-95 victory over the Bobcats at Toyota Center.

“When we play like we did tonight, everybody is happy, everybody gets opportunities, and it's beautiful,” Patterson said, “And when we don't, when we try to hold the ball and take it on ourselves to score, we get down.”
