Cats can still write ‘heck of a story’ if they want it, Cal says

Season-defining implications appear to be on the line when faces on Thursday night in Athens, Ga.  The Wildcats have a chance to “right the ship,” as assistant coach said Monday, an opportunity to put themselves in great position for the second seed in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, and most importantly, take the next step toward the Tournament.

Just don’t tell that to the Cats (20-9, 11-5 SEC). Following in the footsteps of his head coach, isn’t putting all his eggs in one basket like a lot of other people are.

“The only thing that’s on the line tomorrow night is a win and a loss,” Hood said. “That’s the only thing that we’re worried about. It’s the only thing that’s on our minds. We don’t care about on Saturday. We don’t care about the Tournament right now. We don’t care about the NCAA, any of that. All we care about is playing our best – come out playing tough, play together and doing what it takes to get a win.”
