DeMarcus Cousins ejected after flagrant elbow (with video)

DeMarcus Cousins

Kings center was assessed a flagrant foul 2 and ejected for an elbow to Bucks forward Mike Dunleavy during Milwaukee’s 115-113 win at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento on Sunday night.  With 3:26 remaining in the third quarter and the Bucks leading 76-67, Cousins elbowed Dunleavy in the back of the head, earning an automatic ejection. Cousins and Dunleavy were also assessed double technical fouls prior to Cousins’ ejection,  after Dunleavy appeared to undercut Cousins as he battled for position on a Marcus Thornton drive.

The flagrant foul 2 designation applies to fouls that are deemed both “unnecessary and excessive.” All flagrant fouls are reviewed by the league office and are subject to possible discipline including a fine and/or suspension.
