Karl Towns, the all-state basketball player from St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, is almost a can’t-miss prospect when it comes to being on the fast track for a multimillion dollar career in the National Basketball Association. He is that gifted. But wouldn’t it be interesting to know what Towns wants to do with his life after basketball, whenever that is?
“I want to become a doctor of kinesiology and one day open a hospital in my mother’s homeland of the Dominican Republic,” said Towns, who enters his junior year in the fall, but will have enough credits to graduate next spring.
The simplistic definition of kinesiology is the study of the human body’s motion. It’s fascinating that Towns would include that particular science in his future plans — kinetic movement essentially is what Towns is all about.
