Archie Goodwin drowning out criticism, looking to prove his talent in the NBA

Archie Goodwin knew his decision to leave after his freshman season for the draft would not be a popular choice.

After totaling more turnovers (101) than assists (88) and shooting 26.6 percent from three-point range and 63.7 precent from the free-throw line as a freshman, Goodwin saw his stock drop to where most draft analysts were projecting him to fall out of the first round.

Goodwin proved some of those doubts incorrect as he was selected with the 29th pick in the first round in Junes NBA draft, eventually ending up in Phoenix after a couple of trades.

“I knew that people were going to have negative things to say, just because of the way our season went,” Goodwin said Monday while in Lexington to serve as a guest instructor at ‘s annual ProCamp.
