Alex Poythress was fooled just like everyone else.

He, like a sizeable chunk of fans, saw how easy the 2012 national champions made things look. He watched them go 38-2, marveled at their domination, and figured that's what happens when you combine talent with and Kentucky.

“They made it look easy,” Poythress said.

So it was natural to believe things would be that easy for Poythress and his top-ranked recruiting class. Poythress, like a lot of other people, fell victim to the notion that if one youth-laden team could do it, so could the next.

“Honestly, I thought we would win all the games, win a national championship,” Poythress admitted in an exclusive interview with . “You don't realize how hard it is and how hard you've got to work and how hard people will come at you.”
