Big Blue Madness campout hardly about just snagging tickets

Big Blue Madness TentsThe month of October is highly anticipated by the Big Blue Nation. It’s more than the leaves changing, horse racing at Keeneland and football.

October means the wait for basketball is finally over and campout, better known to some people as Tent City, is in full force on the lawns of Memorial Coliseum and the Center.

“In this is what it is, it’s your team,” said camper Ben Rhodes. “People live it, they breathe it. The last game happens in March or April and ( fans) can’t wait ‘til October for it to start right back up again. If it could go 365 (days a year) they would definitely take that.”

Wednesday was officially the first day could begin camping out on the JCC/Memorial Coliseum property for Saturday’s ticket distribution. At 5 a.m., Wildcat fans were permitted to cross Avenue of Champions and start setting up their tents that they will be living in for roughly four days.
