The shine of Eric Bledsoe's potential has been a flickering light for three NBA seasons — and the flashes have kept coming since he began life as a Suns guard last week.
Bledsoe made his US Airways Center debut Monday night in a preseason game against Maccabi Bazan Haifa after making his public debut in a Saturday intrasquad scrimmage in Flagstaff, where either Bledsoe or the altitude was breathtaking at times. He had the scrimmage highlights by penetrating twice to set up Miles Plumlee dunks with one on a slip pass and the other off a driving, underhand lob.
The success comes as no surprise to the man who sat beside Bledsoe inside the Los Angeles Clippers' Staples Center locker room for a season to help in his mentoring. Grant Hill is a believer. There is hyperbole about what Bledsoe can be after two years as Chris Paul's understudy, but there are also fact-based statistics and eyeball tests to know that there is more to him than what has been seen.
