On his final first day of practice as a high school basketball player, Moss Point’s Devin Booker said Monday he’s still no closer to announcing where he’ll play his college ball.
Booker, a 6-foot-6 guard rated the No. 17 player nationally by ESPN, took his fourth and last planned official visit this past weekend, to Missouri. He also has Michigan, Michigan State and Kentucky among his four choices, and said he hopes to have a final decision made prior to the beginning of the NCAA’s early signing period on Nov. 13.
“I can’t really base my decision on my official visits, because all of them were great,” Booker said. “I think it’s more what I’ve learned throughout the process. Because whenever you go on a visit, you always feel like that’s the place. That’s what official visits are supposed to do.
“So right now, I’m just trying to talk with my parents and try to figure this thing out soon. I want to get it done before the signing period (ends), but I’m not going to force myself.”
