The scouting report on ESPN’s Recruiting Nation website on freshman guard James Young indicated one weakness – one that his head coach has lamented about past talented Cats.
Calipari’s comparisons for Young included two ex-UK players who rebounded well for their position in college.
“I told James yesterday ‘From what I see, he’s got to be DeAndre Liggins and Michael Kidd-(Gilchrist),’” Calipari said before last Friday’s game. “What did those two do for us? They defend. Who do they defend? The best player.”
In the ESPN scouting report, Young’s one criticism was not giving effort for complete games, especially on defense.
