If Andrew Harrison is to succeed as Kentucky's point guard, he must learn to turn reactions into reflexes.

John Calipari discourages deliberation, despises dawdling and is diametrically opposed to excessive dribbling. The coach wants his point guard to play instinctively, and fast, and to get rid of the ball if he does not have a better option.

“I think Andrew's holding the ball too long,” Calipari concluded after watching his top-ranked team's 93-63 drubbing of on Sunday. “(He's) messing with it instead of just get to the lane (for) pull-up jumpers.”

That Harrison is a freshman is no excuse. That he was the most coveted point guard in the country last year is no protection. To play point guard for Calipari, a player needs advanced ability, acuity and skin the approximate texture of a rhinoceros' rump.
