That Duke coach has some high praise for former Cat Anthony Davis

USA Basketball and Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski reserves his most glowing praise for former Wildcat Anthony Davis.

After a bit of a dry spell, a talented crop of young American big men has emerged in recent years, including the likes of Portland forward LaMarcus Aldridge, Detroit center Andre Drummond and Sacramento center . USA Basketball head coach reserves his most glowing praise, however, for 20-year-old Anthony Davis, the ' promising second-year standout.

“Anthony's trajectory as far as improvement keeps going higher and higher and higher,” Coach K said on a conference call after USAB's initial 28-player roster announcement Thursday. “He's not your normal big guy, because he's very, very fluid. He can guard probably every position, but what I love most about him is his athleticism and his ability to block shots and finish. I'm excited about the (American) post (players), because we have more guys there than we've had before. (Davis is) really one of the emerging stars in the .”

“It feels good,” Davis said of being chosen for USA Basketball's 28-player pool. “It's been a lot of hard work all season to get better and improve my game. USA took notice of it. I'm going to keep working, keep getting better and show them that I can compete and play for them.”
