Following the win over Mississippi State on Saturday, a game in which John Calipari chided his team for going “through the motions,” Coach Cal said he couldn’t remember a game this season where everyone played well at once. In other words, he’s seen individuals play well, but the parts are always firing at different times.
Depending on one’s outlook, that notion could be an encouraging thing or a troubling sign.
If you’re a glass-half full kind of person, one might consider that this team has won 18 games, beaten the likes of Louisville at home and Missouri on the road, and still put itself in line to compete for a conference crown despite misfiring throughout the year. Things can only get better, right?
