Dakari Johnson was so caught up in the game that he didn’t remember it.
But when it came time for Thursday’s post-Auburn film session, there was Johnson, all 7 feet, 265 pounds of him, bending over at the free-throw line and slapping the floor as he got ready to play defense. When the footage started rolling, Johnson said his teammates started laughing.
“But Coach Cal loved it,” Johnson said. “He said that’s how we’re going to have to play like (Saturday).”
Johnson, whether it’s been by design or a product of his improved play (and subsequent starting role), has been more active and more demonstrative in recent games.
