Harrison twins playing their best basketball just in the nick of time

When Kentucky and Kansas State open against each other tonight, it will pit the Harrison twins against one of their oldest friends.

Like most University of fans, Sr. hated what the Tournament selection committee did to the Wildcats — but for a different reason than most. When No. 8 seed (24-10) and No. 9 seed (20-12) open against each other tonight, it will pit his sons, guards Andrew and Aaron, against one of their oldest friends.

Wesley Iwundu, a freshman forward for the other Wildcats, calls Harrison Sr. “my basketball dad” and has been “like a brother” to the twins since the three Texas natives started playing AAU basketball together when they were 8 years old.

“How close are those three?” Harrison Sr. said. “They've talked during the year probably twice a week. Wesley could come to my house right now and walk in if no one was home. It's not like they were on teams together; they grew up together.”
