The Kentucky basketball team raked in five awards Monday night at the 12th annual CATSPY Awards, UK's end-of-the-athletic-season awards banquet.
The Cats shared the men's team of the year with the UK men's tennis team after reaching the national championship game for the second time in three years.
Julius Randle, who declared for the NBA Draft last week after one of the finest freshman seasons in program history, was named the men's rookie of the year.
Aaron Harrison's barrage of game-winning 3-point shots in the NCAA Tournament unsurprisingly shared honors with two other winners for the men's performance of the year.
Rounding out the awards for the men's basketball team, John Calipari shared coach of the year honors with Rachel Lawson (softball) and Edrick Floreal (track and field), and Alex Poythress was one the male winner for best supporting role.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter's Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
