Boston Celtics rookie James Young will not make his NBA debut this week in Orlando. Celtics' president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told reporters Monday that the swingman will not play with Boston's summer league team due to lingering health issues following a car accident Young was involved in last month.
“He had a little whiplash,” Ainge said of Young's health issues. “With whiplash comes concussion-like symptoms and dizziness here and there. We're just not messing with that stuff.”
Young's condition caused him to miss some of his draft workouts in June and potentially affected his draft stock. The Celtics selected the former Kentucky guard at no. 17 spot during the 2014 NBA Draft.
Walter Cornett, of Glendale, Kentucky, is the owner and operator of Walter's Wildcat World. He founded WildcatWorld.com in 1998 making it one of the oldest Kentucky basketball fan sites in operation today.
