Asked Friday who surprised him the most this summer and in preseason practices, associate head coach Kenny Payne had two guys in mind.
One was obvious. Physically, anyone with a memory that dates back to last season can see that Dakari Johnson is a different player. He’s faster, more athletic and more active, thanks to a trimmer body frame.
“Andrew has done everything it takes to run a program,” Payne said. “He took the summer to change his body. He’s worked on his game. He’s playing with extreme confidence.”
