Dominique Hawkins made his first start for UK on Friday in the Wildcats' 89-65 win over Boston.
“It's an amazing feeling,” Hawkins said. “I was so nervous. I'm blessed to be able to start for the No. 1 team in the nation, and it was just a crazy feeling. I felt like I was dreaming.”
The Richmond native found he had the starting spot after the team's walk-through on Thursday. Alex Poythress was sick and unable to play in the game.
