No. 21 North Carolina was caught in a wrong-place, wrong-time situation Saturday as seemingly all of UK basketball’s ailments were cured in a dominant performance.
“It was a man’s game out there today,” UNC head coach Roy Williams said after the 84-70 loss. “I thought their athleticism and their physical play was much more to the task than we were.”
UK was without junior forward Alex Poythress against UNC Saturday, but his presence off of the floor was as crucial as it’s been all season.
Without him, ironically, the Cats looked completely in sync for the first time all season.
